MANASSAS, VA – House of Mercy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals and families in need throughout Northern Virginia, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Mobile Pantry Van. This initiative, made possible through significant support from Cuisine Solutions, will expand House of Mercy’s reach and enhance food distribution services for homebound individuals.

Expanding the Mobile Pantry Program
House of Mercy’s Mobile Pantry program currently serves six homebound households, consisting of 10 individuals, within a five-mile radius. In January 2025, the program provided food assistance to these households, distributing a total of 409 pounds of food, including 232 pounds of fresh food, 162 pounds of non-perishable food, and 15 pounds of essential non-food supplies. The total value of assistance provided amounted to $1,409.02. Plans are in place to expand services to reach additional households, contingent on increased volunteer participation and community support through food and monetary donations.
Both the Food Pantry and Mobile Pantry programs provide a selection of fresh foods, including eggs, milk, cheese, yogurt, chicken, beef, pork, seafood, fresh fruits, vegetables, ready-to-eat meals, snacks, breads, and sweets. Non-perishable staples such as dry rice and beans, tuna, canned vegetables, pasta, sauces, and condiments are also distributed to clients.
