As you engage in Lenten prayers, share your intercessions with us. Your prayers are a source of strength and comfort for our community. By submitting your intentions through the short form below, you allow us to extend our gratitude and collectively understand the spiritual impact across all parishes. Let us come together in prayerful unity.
Praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet
What it is: A devotion given to St. Faustina, focused on God’s mercy. It is prayed using a rosary.
How to pray:
• Use a rosary.
• Begin with the Sign of the Cross and pray one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and the Apostles’ Creed.
• On the large beads, pray: “Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.”
• On the small beads (10 times): “For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.”
• At the end (3 times): “Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.”
• Close with the Sign of the Cross.
DO AT LEAST ONE ACT OF KINDNESS FOR SOMEONE ELSE THIS LENT.
Holy Hour for Vocations
What it is: A prayer hour dedicated to asking God to inspire more vocations to the priesthood, religious life, and holy marriages.
How to do it:
• Spend an hour in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament or in a quiet place at home.
• Read and meditate on Luke 10:2 (The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few…).
• Pray a Rosary or the Litany for Vocations.
• Ask God to call men and women to serve Him with their lives.
Fasting for Priests
What it is: Offering a sacrifice (fasting) for the holiness and strength of priests.
How to do it:
• Choose a form of fasting (e.g., skipping a meal, abstaining from sweets, social media, or another sacrifice).
• Offer the fast specifically for priests, asking God to strengthen and guide them.
• Pray: “Lord, I offer this sacrifice for Your priests. Strengthen their faith, purify their hearts, and guide their ministry.”
Novena for Holy Souls
What it is: A nine-day prayer for the souls in purgatory.
How to do it:
• Begin each day with the Sign of the Cross.
• Pray: “Eternal Father, I offer You the Most Precious Blood of Your Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory.”
• Conclude with one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and the Eternal Rest Prayer:
“Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.”
• Repeat for nine days.
Holy Hour for the Suffering
What it is: Spending one hour in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament (if possible) or at home, interceding for those who suffer.
How to do it:
• Visit a church or pray at home.
• Begin with the Sign of the Cross.
• Read and meditate on Matthew 11:28-30 (Come to me, all you who are weary…).
• Pray the Litany of Trust or offer a personal prayer for those who are sick, lonely, or struggling.
• Conclude with Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be.
Praying the Rosary
What it is: A Marian prayer meditating on the life of Christ.
How to pray:
• Begin with the Sign of the Cross.
• Pray the Apostles’ Creed, one Our Father, three Hail Marys, and one Glory Be.
• Announce a mystery (Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, or Luminous) and meditate on it while praying one Our Father, ten Hail Marys, one Glory Be, and the Fatima Prayer (O my Jesus, forgive us our sins…).
• Repeat for five decades.
• Conclude with the Hail Holy Queen and the Sign of the Cross.
