We are looking for someone who can take on our social media and general marketing initiatives. If you are versed in social media, have some general marketing concepts down and are willing to learn, this is the internship for you!
Graphic Design
Are you creative, artistic and have a good sense of connecting with your audience? Check out our graphic design internship. There are all kinds of possibilities to help tell the story of House of Mercy!
Business/Sales
Interested in Retail? We have opportunities for learning more about the business process and how to increase sales. This will be very hands on in our Community Thrift Store. From learning the process of running a business to planning
Adult Education
Passionate about education? We need your help! We offer adult education and life skills courses for anyone in the community. The intern would help organize, plan and teach the courses as your skills allow.
Event Management
Event management is an industry all on its own. At House of Mercy, you can get a taste of all that goes in to managing an event whether it is a fund-raising, friend-raising, or an internal event for clients. You will gain the experience you need to grow your event management skills!
Food Pantry
Looking to work in the nonprofit or human services sector? This internship will be perfect for you! Learn best practices on how to help those in need while sharpening your people skills. If you speak Spanish, that is a plus!
Grant Research/Writing
Any good writer needs to do a lot of research before finalizing the writing piece. Grant writing and research will certainly give you the opportunity to do both. If you have the interest and skills for writing and communication, try them out with House of Mercy’s grant writing team! Help tell our story in a compelling way in order to (hopefully) obtain funds to grow our mission!
Administration/Customer Service
House of Mercy is looking for someone who loves to work with people and is willing to work hard to create the best customer experience possible. This could include creating policies and best practices for customer relations and retention, volunteer orientation and management, as well as helping to evaluate our current administration practices and participating in customer interaction and office management day-to-day.
Outreach
A large part of non-profit success is the partnerships that are created. For House of Mercy, many of those partnerships are with local businesses, organizations, groups and neighborhoods to donate gifts-in-kind such as food for our food pantry or items for our thrift store. This position would help us grow those relationships and find new partnerships that will last a lifetime!

Development in the non-profit world can be any type of fundraising including major gifts, events, monthly donors, planned giving, gifts-in-kind and much more. Join us as a development intern to learn more about the development cycles including identifying, cultivating and stewarding our wonderful donors.
