High Tea Fundraiser:
A Sweet Success for House of Mercy

On Saturday, May 17th, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Bishop Russell Hall in Manassas played host to House of Mercy’s High Tea fundraiser. This elegant yet simple event brought the community together for a delightful afternoon, ultimately raising nearly $10,000 to support the organization’s critical food pantry.

Guests enjoyed a beautiful afternoon, with the sophisticated guitar talents of Ken Hall providing a charming musical backdrop. Attendees, many sporting beautiful high tea fashion, savored delicious tea, along with an array of pastries and desserts generously donated by local businesses including Nothing Bundt Cakes, Cakes by Happy Eatery, El Moche Peruvian Food, Sweet Gratitude Bakehouse, and Distinguished Engagements. The ambiance was further enhanced by stunning floral centerpieces, a thoughtful donation from Melanie Cameron of Mystical Rose Flowers.

A unique fashion show featured pieces from House of Mercy’s thrift store, highlighting how community donations directly fuel the organization’s mission. Every item donated to the thrift store generates funds that directly support the food pantry, which serves an average of 100 families daily. Attendees could further contribute at the “Bou-tea-que,” featuring more donated fashion items. The beautiful moments of the day were expertly captured by photographer China Briceno. The success of the High Tea was a true reflection of community spirit. House of Mercy extends its heartfelt thanks to all 33 sponsors, including Merritt Properties and Pampa’s Fox Catering, who supported the event through advertising in the program. Gratitude also goes to all who reserved a seat, attended, and supported the “Bou-tea-que.” A special thank you is extended to the Knights of Columbus George Brent Council #5332 for their generous hospitality in providing Bishop Russell Hall. Finally, the tireless efforts of the dedicated volunteers who set up, served, and cleaned up made the event a seamless and joyful experience.

The High Tea fundraiser showcased the power of coming together to make a tangible difference. The funds raised will directly provide meals, reinforcing House of Mercy’s commitment to supporting the local community.
