A New Beginning with House of Mercy

After immigrating to the United States, one local couple came to House of Mercy seeking support as they began building a new life for their family. With limited resources and no nearby connections, they were simply looking for a way to get on their feet.

They found that—and so much more—through our food pantry and community programs.

The mother began attending English classes offered through House of Mercy, dedicating a full year to learning the language. Motivated to do more, she went on to take a specialized course in daycare-related English, with the dream of opening a licensed in-home daycare.

Step by step, she worked toward that goal. After receiving all necessary approvals, she returned to House of Mercy for help setting up her space. Through our Foundations of Mercy program, we were able to provide the furniture and resources she needed to welcome children into a warm and nurturing environment.

Today, this family has taken incredible steps forward—and the mother is now a licensed daycare provider. Their journey is a powerful reminder of what’s possible with determination, community support, and access to the right resources.

We are so proud of everything they’ve accomplished and wish them continued success, joy, and many little feet filling their home with laughter and learning.
