A Community Effort to Fight Hunger

On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, House of Mercy marked a major milestone with the official launch of our Mobile Pantry Van! This special event brought together donors, volunteers, and community leaders for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and our successful “Stuff the Van” initiative, ensuring our new vehicle was stocked with fresh and non-perishable food to help families in need.

We were honored to have Coles District Supervisor Yesli Vega and a representative from the office of Brentsville District Supervisor Tom Gordy join us for this meaningful occasion. Their presence and generous food donations reinforced the importance of local support in tackling food insecurity in our community.

The Mobile Pantry Van was made possible thanks to the incredible generosity of Cuisine Solutions Inc. We extend our deepest gratitude to President and CEO Felipe Hasselmann and Wede Gibson, Chief People and Diversity Officer, for their support. Not only did Cuisine Solutions Inc. sponsor the van, but they also catered the event and provided insulated bags to help store all the food donations, ensuring that fresh food reaches those who need it most.

House of Mercy also extends a special thank you to TradeWraps, the company that designed and wrapped the van. Their support and presence at the event, along with their contributions to the “Stuff the Van” initiative, helped make this launch even more special.

Blessing the Journey Ahead

A highlight of the event was a special blessing of the van by Deacon Paul Ochenkowski, marking the beginning of its journey in bringing nourishment, hope, and dignity to families throughout the region.

A Huge Thank You to Our Supporters!

Thanks to our dedicated volunteers, donors, and sponsors, the “Stuff the Van” initiative was a huge success! We collected an incredible amount of food, which will directly benefit the individuals and families who rely on our pantry services.

This event was a true testament to what we can accomplish together. We are deeply grateful for every person who contributed—whether by donating food, attending the event, or spreading the word about our mission.
