Join House of Mercy for the National Day of Servic Join House of Mercy for the National Day of Service on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 18.  On MLK Jr. Day, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. King through service to our community. 

The heart of the House of Mercy is the hard-working volunteer workforce who staff in our food pantry, donation center, and thrift store. Without them, we could not serve the clients, customers, and donors who support our mission. All COVID-19 protocols are followed for a safe volunteer experience.

December was another record month for the House of December was another record month for the House of Mercy food pantry!  The continuing pandemic will only see our numbers rise during January!

Without the help of partners and vendors across th Without the help of partners and vendors across the region, we could not offer the level of services that we do. Today, we thank Prince William Food Rescue  for being one of those valuable partners.

This past year, they provided us with 178,170 pounds of food and we helped prepare boxes of groceries to 104 shut-in families who contacted the PWFC hotline and seniors who were in need of direct delivery.

Without partners like PWFR, we could not do what we do!  THANK YOU!!

As we start to set up for our Christmas with Mercy As we start to set up for our Christmas with Mercy program this weekend, a HUGE thanks to @junkluggersgainesvilleva for their help, and their truck, in delivering the toys and gifts!
CALLING ALL ELVES! Our Christmas with Mercy progra CALLING ALL ELVES! Our Christmas with Mercy program is this weekend at the Freedom Center and we can still use some elves to help with all sorts of Christmasy tasks! 

Help spread the joy of giving this Christmas by volunteering at our Christmas with Mercy program. We are expecting to hand out toys to over 400 children this year. The more volunteers the merrier!!! Volunteers 14 and up are welcome (under 16 must be accompanied by an adult).

Most needed times are on Friday, December 11 in the morning, but any day will help.

From July to August, House of Mercy has registered 464 NEW families which is a 552% increase from only 60 new families this time last year! 

We have served a total of 2506 families in the last 120 days, which is a total of 7867 individuals in just 4 months! 

Every gift is appreciated as we continue to see a rise in new clients and struggle to keep our shelves stocked.

This #GivingTuesday, the House of Mercy encourages This #GivingTuesday, the House of Mercy encourages you to consider becoming one of our monthly donors. The promise of these monthly gifts allow us to provide our clients with food assistance, clothing allowances, emergency gas and education classes to better their lives. It also supports our volunteer workforce in training and recruiting.  With an 800% increase in client registrations since the start of the pandemic, the need is great!

Many, many thanks to the local SewaDiwali group th Many, many thanks to the local SewaDiwali group that collected and donated over 700lbs of food this weekend to our food pantry!  These types of grassroots food drives are vital to keeping our shelves stocked and we couldn't be more grateful!
